Telecentres (or telecenters) are locations for community or public access to ICTs, that are set up by projects or governments. These are generally part of an ICT4D project or program.
The term sometimes is used to refer to small telephone centres often privately run. It is also sometimes confused with cybercafés or cyber centres, which tend to be privately run.
Telecentres are important elements to consider in localisation strategies.
