Script Encoding Initiative

The Script Encoding Initiative (SEI) "is a project devoted to the preparation of formal proposals for the encoding of scripts and script elements not yet currently supported in Unicode (ISO/IEC 10646)." It was founded in 2002 and is based at the University of California at Berkeley (USA).

In terms of African languages, it has been involved in work on N'Ko and the Vai script.
