IAI opened in 1999. Its objective is the teaching and diffusion of computer knowledge amongst the eleven member states - Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Gabon, Niger, Senegal and Togo. As such it is an InterAfrican institution.
