The dot-ORG program is part of the USAID-funded DOT-COM Alliance and focuses on "Public Access and Applications." It is an ICT4D/E program led by AED.

  • "works with USAID and USAID partners to help bridge [the digital divide], especially for women and the disadvantaged."
  • "is working to expand access [to information in three ways:
    • by helping to create financially sustainable public access points to ICT,
    • by expanding the coverage of Internet access, and
    • by helping to create a large number of trained users."
  • "works to accelerate specific applications of ICT that improve equity within societies, support economic growth, and advance the efficiency and transparency of government services."
  • works with the Last Mile Initiative

It is not known if this program has been involved any in localisation in Africa.
