Communication
(:toc:)
Communication among localisers and specialists in aspects of technology and language is essential to sharing expertise, collaborating on projects, and building capacities and networks for future initiatives.
PanAfrican Localisation project & communication
The PanAfrican Localisation project seeks to facilitate communication in several ways.
E-mail lists
- PAL-lists - three e-mail lists, one each in the working languages of English, French, and Portuguese, with automatic translation to of messaages among them.
- Lists for workshops
- "PanAfrLoc" was a list established for the first PanAfrican Localisation workshop in June 2005. It continued for a while before being replaced by the PAL-lists. The list archives are accessible at http://lists.kabissa.org/lists/archives/public/panafrloc/
- "PAL2" is a list for the second PanAfrican Localisation workshop in November 2007. It is not open for general subscription.
Wikigroups
- L10n WikiGroups have been set up to provide specialised spaces for country-based communities and for some topics. This is an ongoing experiment
