UNDP's Internet Initiative for Africa (IIA) facilitated connectivity for Burkina Faso.
Ouédraogo (2000) a fait ue enquête sur les usagers d'internet dans des points d'accès publiques. Il a trouvé que : "68.7 % sont de sexe masculin et 31.3% féminins" et que "les usagers Internet ont en moyenne en âge compris entre 14 et 30 ans avec une dominance pour les 20 25 ans, ce qui correspond à la frange des étudiants." There is a project for localisation of OpenOffice in Moore, Fulfulde, and Jula, and a project that has created some TavultesoftKeyman keyboards. There appears to be good collaboration among diverse actors in Burkina.
